Conference 16 may 2018 - The practical implementation of ESG

Value creation with impact - Alpha Research Conference Brussels

Achieving and maintaining the right ESG balance in a portfolio is a difficult challenge for investors. Therefore, Alpha Research plans to collaborate with three asset managers and a pension fund manager to shed light on the practical application of responsible and sustainable investing. On Wednesday May 16, 2018 you are most welcome to join the seminar, held in Brussels.

Value creation with impact

E (Environmental)
BNP Paribas Asset Management will consider the ‘E’ during the seminar; Harry Boyle, Associate Director and Portfolio Specialist at Impax AM, will use two concrete cases during his presentation to support his argument: “the transparency of the E is becoming better, certainly in comparison with how it was 5 or 10 years ago.”

S (Social)
Social Bonds are in a league of their own. Simon Bond, Director Responsible Investment Portfolio Management at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, will discuss real examples of the added value of the ‘S’. Social Bonds unlock the full potential of bonds to deliver both financial and social alpha. Bond: “We do not invest in general finance bonds – each bond requires a direct line of sight to positive social outcomes”.

G (Governance)
Triodos Investment Management will take a closer look at how the 'G' works in practice. Hans Stegeman, Head of Investment Strategy and Triodos Research, will present authentic cases to illustrate real engagement results. Engagement can also inspire companies “due to the fact that we ask questions that were perhaps never thought about before,” says Stegeman.
