On 26 October, Alpha Research organizes the seminar ‘Markets at a Crossroads – It’s all in the mix’ in The Hotel, Brussels, together with Nordea Asset Management and Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Have equities become too expensive and how should the ESG integration be achieved?

The economic fallout caused by the pandemic is forcing governments around the world to develop policies not just for stimulating the global economy, but also to respond to climate change and to tackle the social inequalities that have once again been highlighted by the spread of the virus.

In parallel, the EU Green deal has the ambitious plan to make Europe the first climate neutral continent in the world with huge investments in e.g. infrastructure and energy to be expected. How do you deal with this changing environment?

Our guest speakers are Jan De Bondt, Executive in Residence at Vlerick Business School and Tom Feys, Chief Investment Officer, SFPI-FPIM. Jan De Bondt started his career in Brussels and worked at major investment banks in London with a focus on Global Markets. Tom Feys has experience in the asset management industry and is SFPI-FPIM CIO since 2019. The government holding company Fpim sees its financial strength growing. It is allowed to use the dividends on a series of government shareholdings to invest in new shareholdings. Tom Feys will discuss what new investments are planned for Fpim during the event.
